This Knoxville sailboat session is probably my all-time favorite shoot. Not just because it was featured on Style Me Pretty, but because it combines things I love the most: happiness, water and sailboats. Maybe if you have a sailboat on the water it creates happiness? That makes sense to me!
Knoxville Sailboat Session
This magical session happened at Blue Springs Marina near Knoxville, Tennessee, and made a perfect backdrop for this lovely shoot. The landscape of wide-open lake backing up to hills covered with trees made the perfect setting.
Real bride and groom Sarah and Robert did a fantastic job of modeling for us. Newlyweds at the time, they were the perfect couple to portray a couple on their honeymoon.
I have to say, they were such good sports. It was probably 95 degrees that night. The sun was about to set, and heat just radiated off the water.
The shoot just turned out more amazing than I could have hoped for. It was actually my first styled shoot as a photographer. I never realized the importance of what a styled shoot could mean to your business. Submitting to wedding blogs has been quite a learning curve. While not all of my shoots are accepted, this honeymoon sailboat session has been the most widely accepted.
Of course, a fantastic blog-worthy shoot can not be done alone. We were so fortunate to get to work with some of Knoxville’s best wedding vendors. Gorgeous floral was provided by LB Floral and intricate design/styling by Honeybee Events. Beautiful hair and makeup by Southern Sirens. A friend of one of the vendors allowed us to use their beautiful sailboat. And the rest was history!
This honeymoon sailboat session taught me a lot. I am thankful for every new learning opportunity.
