This beautiful Topsail Island engagement session was such fun! I enjoyed working with Camry and Eric. From the first moment I met Camry, this sweet, Southern lady intrigued me. I was drawn in by her kindness and grace. I wanted to hear more about her, and how she met Eric.
Camry’s history with Eric started like this:
“Being from a small town, Eric and I knew of each other in high school and our paths crossed many times, but we never spent a lot of social time together. It wasn’t until we were both at NC State that we started spending time alone. We had a math class together and spent time studying together. This led to study breaks to go to the gym or on a run or to get Cookout milkshakes. Everything just grew from there, and we spent the rest of our college years going to football, basketball, and baseball games, taking shag lessons, going hunting together, and getting to know each other’s families.
Eric is a second lieutenant in the US Marine Corps, during two summers of college he spent six weeks at Officer Candidate School. He wasn’t allowed to have his phone, so we wrote letters. Those letters are some of our most treasured keepsakes. After he was commissioned in July 2013, he started planning how he would propose, and in December we were engaged. Eric planned to most sweet and wonderful day at the Biltmore Estates. We went on a tour of the house and were on our way to the winery when we took a “wrong” tour to the horse stables. There was where our private horse drawn carriage was waiting for us. Eric proposed at one of the breathtaking overlooks. “
I offered to photograph Camry and Eric during a trip to Topsail Island, North Carolina, to get to know them better and to work with them in a session situation.
It was so much fun capturing Eric and Camry’s Topsail Island engagement session, while including Bear, the adorable lab! And I LOVED Camry’s Lilly Pulitzer outfit! So chic.
