Jon & Diana’s Asheville wedding was beautiful. The weather was definitely touch-and-go, but their love for each other was so evident, the clouds were not noticed.
The scent of the mountains drifted through the beautiful botanical garden as we photographed the pre-wedding details, bridal shots, and groomsmen. Patches of rain danced around the garden creating a moody, melancholy backdrop.
Inside, Diana, her mother, grandmother and bridesmaids were a flurry of activity. Laughter permeated the room as friends and relatives set the tone with teasing, memory-sharing and laughter. The room went silent, however, when Diana turned, dressed in her gorgeous gown. She was gorgeous!
I think everyone would agree that Diana is even more beautiful on the inside. As an OBGYN in Cary, North Carolina, she has a heart for women dealing with many difficult situations. She purchased her wedding gown from The Brides Project, a company dedicated to “support adults and children impacted by cancer. They provide brides with socially-conscious, eco-and budget-friendly options for purchasing wedding gowns”
Outside, Eleanor with Events For You was busily preparing the grounds and managing the many vendors setting up. Short Street Cakes, 12 Bones Smokehouse, Bradley Carter Music, Sound Extreme, Classic Event Rentals—so many wonderful vendors involved in this wedding!
The ceremony soon began and there were tears as Diana walked down the aisle to Jon. The sun came out by the way, at the perfect time! Filtering through the mountain trees, the setting could not have been more gorgeous. As vows were stated (written by Jon & Diana, and taken from Hemingway and Twain passages), birds sang in the trees. We were so honored to photograph Jon & Diana’s wedding, and to work with such amazingly talented vendors. We wish Jon & Diana the very best in what is just the beginning of their wonderful story.
