Knoxville Surprise Engagement
Michael & Ashli
I don’t know about you but this Knoxville surprise engagement about made me cry. Ashli so sweetly responded to an ad I posted about Christmas mini sessions to support our missions trip to Helena, Montana with Capstone Church. After talking to her for a bit, I realized she was secretly hoping her boyfriend Michael would pop the question. After getting to know her I was really rooting for them! A couple of months went by and I FINALLY got a message in my inbox, just before Ashli & Michael’s session. Michael explained his plan to propose to Ashli and we set up some code words so I would know when he was going to pop the question. I always like to do that so I’m ready for the moment it happens. Nothing is worse for a surprise engagement photographer, than the guy getting down on one knee and you’re not prepared at all.
The night of their surprise engagement in Knoxville dawned chilly but beautiful. The lights downtown Knoxville were just so beautiful and romantic. The streets were gleaming with the cheer of Christmas. Meeting Ashli and Michael under the Christmas tree on Gay Street, I felt like I’d known them all my life. They were instantly fun to be around and I could sense an obvious chemistry between them. We quickly set to work together, Ashli and Michael just cuddling and all smiles. I could tell their obvious chemistry would translate into fun-filled images and I was right! There is no denying their love for each other in those sweet smiles.
And just like we had planned, Michael said his code sentence and I was ready. About 30 seconds later, he got down on one knee and the look on Ashli’s face….beautiful!
Thank you Michael and Ashli for letting me be a part of this exciting time in your life. And thank you for using your surprise engagement photos for God’s Kingdom!
