The Reserve at Bluebird Hill
This past Saturday I had the honor of photographing Jack & Brooke’s engagement session at The Reserve at Bluebird Hill in Lenoir City Tn. The day was chilly and overcast, but we felt this would translate well in their photos. Jack and Brooke have chosen a Christmas wedding theme, so incorporating a moody and cold look made perfect sense!

I love Jack & Brooke’s wedding venue choice! The Reserve at Bluebird Hill is gorgeous. And the perfect venue for a cozy Christmas wedding. I had seen it featured on several blogs and was eager to photograph there. It did not disappoint! I love how it sits atop a hill with mountain ranges off in the distance. When I think of Christmas weddings, I definitely think of mountains. With a rainstorm rolling in in the distance, we got some lovely moody shots.
Incorporating their pup was important to Jack & Brooke, and I loved that they brought Roman, their German Shepherd along. He was very good and paid such good attention during photos! (Big thanks to mom Debbie for being the Roman-handler during the shoot!).
Jack and Brooke really wanted to incorporate important and sentimental items into their engagement session. It’s so special when a couple does that! It creates in the photos an extra depth of emotion. When they look at these images in years to come, they’ll remember the unique pieces and the joy they bring. Among their heirlooms, they incorporated a wedding ring quilt! The colors popped really well against the overcast sky. The red in the quilt was the perfect pop of red for their Christmas wedding. Perhaps, no other free quilt patterns could have been more perfect. My heart melted when Brooke told me that her engagement ring was Jack’s grandmothers! How sweet!
Jack & Brooke, thank you for giving me the honor of being a part of your engagement session and wedding day. I can’t wait for December!
